Property Projects That Will Make Your Shrine Shine

Home improvement projects are a great way to increase the eye appeal of your property, and even to increase its value. But this doesn't mean that you have to invest in costly remodeling projects or new constructions. A simple paint job (using the right colors) and some landscaping projects are just a couple of effective ways to make your home shine. As a property manager, I understand first hand what it takes to set a home apart from the neighboring crowd – so I started this blog in hopes that I can inspire others to plan their own fun projects in and around their homes. Let this site be your guide to a new and improved palace!

Budget-Friendly Flowers: How To Make Sure Your Wedding Is Still Beautiful

Your wedding day is one of the most memorable days of your life. While some people are able to shell out tens of thousands of dollars on planning a wedding, some simply cannot afford this luxury. With flowers being one of the more expensive components of a wedding, it is important that you be familiar with ways you can save money. This is particularly true if you're on a set budget. Here are a few things to keep in mind when selecting flowers on a budget to make sure your wedding is just as beautiful as you have always imagined:

1. Stick to Flowers That Are in Season.

As with many other things, there are certain flowers that are available in certain seasons. Although most florists can get their hands on any flower at any time, if the bloom isn't in season, then it is going to be harder to get and cost more to purchase. For example, tulips are popular in the spring and are less expensive because they are easy to find. However, come fall, these blooms are hard to find, especially if you want a particular color. This is when it becomes more expensive. Ask your wedding florist to help you decide on flowers that will be in season for your wedding to save you money.

2. Don't Turn the Cold Shoulder on Inexpensive Blooms.

Most people want to choose expensive blooms for their weddings, such as peonies, orchids, lilies, tulips and roses. However, inexpensive flowers can be just as beautiful when arranged by a professional florist. As long as the florist knows what he or she is doing, a marvelous and striking arrangement can be made, especially if the blooms are used in abundance.

3. Use the Arrangements from the Ceremony at the Reception.

Another great way to save money at your wedding is by re-using the flowers from the ceremony at the reception. This usually works best if you don't have a large amount of flowers and there is plenty of time between the ceremony and the reception to allow for proper set-up. You can even use the bouquets of your bridesmaid as centerpieces for the main wedding table or food tables. If you can make this method work, it sure beats having to pay for twice as many flowers.

4. Don't Forget That Less Really Can Be More.

Sometimes, it is possible to over-populate vases with blooms. This is particularly true if you're using flowers with full, fluffy petals that take up a lot of room. When this is the case, less is usually more. Add in some baby's breath, ivy, ferns or other fillers to close any gaps that you don't feel comfortable with in the vase and to add more elegance to the display.

Talk to your local florist about what flowers are in season during the time of your wedding. If there is a certain type of flower that is not in season that you must have at your wedding, consider using it as minimally as possible to save money. You can use it to create extraordinary – but fewer – arrangements. For more information, see http://www.fasanflorist.com.
