Property Projects That Will Make Your Shrine Shine

Home improvement projects are a great way to increase the eye appeal of your property, and even to increase its value. But this doesn't mean that you have to invest in costly remodeling projects or new constructions. A simple paint job (using the right colors) and some landscaping projects are just a couple of effective ways to make your home shine. As a property manager, I understand first hand what it takes to set a home apart from the neighboring crowd – so I started this blog in hopes that I can inspire others to plan their own fun projects in and around their homes. Let this site be your guide to a new and improved palace!

Troubleshooting Your Air Conditioner: Four Helpful Hints

Having trouble with your home air conditioner can be enough to make any homeowner frustrated, but there are a few things you can do on your own to troubleshoot your unit. Before you call a repair person, here are some of the things you can do to determine if you can make the repair or if you need to contact your air conditioning repair person.

Check The Power

If the air conditioner is not running at all, check your breakers to make sure they haven't been tripped. In some cases, the energy consumption that occurs when your AC is working at full power can be too much for your electrical system, and the breaker can shut the AC off. Flip the breaker switch and see if the AC comes back on. If it doesn't. it may be time to contact your HVAC specialist.

Clean Around The Condenser

If your air conditioner isn't circulating air, there may be something blocking the condenser for the unit. Make sure that there is no debris surrounding the air conditioner that can block the flow of air, such as leaves, litter or twigs. If removing dirt and debris from around the unit doesn't solve the problem, you may need to have the condenser cleaned by a professional.

Change The Filter

In some cases, all you need to do to help your HVAC system circulate cool air is to change the filter. Changing the filter is as easy as unscrewing the cover where the filter is located, removing the old one and putting the new one in place. The filter should be changed regularly to help the HVAC system run properly and to prevent allergens and dust from being distributed throughout your home.

Check Your Thermostat

Some digital thermostats can shut off the air conditioner to conserve energy, and others run on timers that can shut off the air after an extended period of time. If you have a digital thermostat, check the settings to make sure it is allowing the unit to run properly. In the event that your thermostat is not working, you can have your HVAC repair person fix or replace it.

Of course, the best way to keep your air conditioner in good working order is to perform regular maintenance. Consider having it checked with each change of the seasons to ensure your system is ready to keep your family comfortable no matter what type of weather comes your way.
